Robyn Wapner, Esq.
When addressing human resource legal issues, organizations need a trusted advisor who will apply legal expertise, business acumen, interpersonal skills and savviness to the human resource problem at hand – whether it be a sensitive termination or disciplinary issue, leave of absence, internal complaint, anticipated claim, or a new law requiring compliance.
As a lawyer who has spent my career practicing in the HR and employment law area, I bring the knowledge and experience businesses need to successfully navigate human resource legal challenges that arise on a daily basis by offering:
- Legal advice to human resources and business leaders
- Outsourced counsel services for busy legal departments with overflowing workloads
- In-house employment law expertise to support smaller legal departments without a full-time employment specialist
A Dedicated HR Legal Partner
I work with organizations across sectors and industries, and have extensive experience with luxury fashion retailers in particular. Committed to exceeding client expectations, I take pride in being a true partner who helps leadership take the necessary measures to avoid legal exposure while maximizing your organization’s talent potential. I strive to support the business’s desired outcome with compliant but creative solutions. My advice is practical and centers on what is best for the business.
Extensive Employment Law Expertise Upon Which Leading Organizations Rely
Upon graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1999, I practiced law as an associate at large New York law firms.
My first experience as in-house counsel was with a globally renowned jewelry manufacturer and retailer, where I was promoted to Vice President and Associate General Counsel. In this role I oversaw employment law matters across 34 countries and all business units including retail, corporate headquarters, manufacturing, and distribution. I successfully partnered with all levels of management and human resources to solve employee relations issues, implement policies, and address legal claims big and small.
In 2015 I took on the role of Managing Counsel – Employment Law at a global financial services and stock transfer agent company. There I had the opportunity to establish the employment counsel role and provide legal services to management and human resources at all levels across multiple business divisions.
I started my own legal consulting practice in 2018, so I could bring my unique combination of legal skills, business acumen, interpersonal skills and savviness, together with my passion for pragmatic problem-solving, to a wider range of clients. Since the inception of my firm, I have successfully built a loyal client base of prominent luxury retailers, given my insight to their particular culture, along with organizations in the consulting and financial services sectors among others. I offer a broad range of employment law consulting services.
